The colourful paniolo town of Makawao nestles on the slopes of Haleakala crater. Having been accepted to the state and national historic register, Hale Ho’okipa Inn, with its cook house, stone bread oven, redwood water tower and majestic Cook pine tree, remains forever protected. Built in 1924, the house is a blend of craftsman’s style elegance and old world charm. Guests are served continental breakfast of home grown fresh organic fruits, bananas, papayas, passion fruit, avocado, local strawberries, and yogurt. Locally baked breads and bagels are available to toast with compliments of island jams, jellies and fruit butters. Island coffee blends, teas and juices start off the delectable buffet style breakfast.
