Wheems is an ecological and organic six hectare smallholding producing organic food for a local market, also available for guests to buy. Our Kyrgyzstani style yurt is made in the UK for a British climate and we have made some extra modifications for Orkney. The fire is easy to light and keeps the yurt warm. It is 14 feet in diameter, with a custom made wooden floor and double bed. We provide blankets, towels, candles, lamps, log stove and firewood, one extra futon mattress under the bed for a third person and a stove top kettle, organic tea and coffee. A basket of firewood is included in the price and extra can be purchased on site. This is a wonderful adventure for those who enjoy lighting a fire every evening whilst looking out to sea.
